Lighting your memories

DO YOU FEEL SUNNY?

Lighting is a key element when capturing any photograph. Playing with the most appropriate lighting scheme at each moment and a convenient camera configuration, we can obtain great quality images in the most demanding lighting conditions. Also, working with a professional gear further helps to achieve a good balance between light and shadow. I hope that these examples of lighting captured around the streets of Granada, help you understand the differences to choose an optimal time slot for your experience according to your own expectations and time availability. And remember that the most important thing to get a great image is you to enjoy the walk and have fun!

Soft early morning

STARTING THE DAY WITH A WALK

In the morning we will be fresh and full of energy, and lighting will be soft after sunrise as the sun appears from behind the Alhambra. Ideal for example, for those travelers who leave the city in the morning. You can check out and leave your luggage at reception.

Harsh daylight

PUSHING THE CAMERA TO ITS LIMITS

Everyone will advise you to avoid this lighting, but with a good camera setup and taking advantage of the shadows along the way, we can get a soft and pleasant quality light. We could even take advantage of this contrasting light to give more character to your photos.

Soft shadow light

THE CATHEDRAL NEVER DISAPPOINTS

Image taken in the midday, in the shade of the cathedral and with intense light in the background. The lighting on the model is soft and the camera’s high dynamic range has allowed the most intense lights and shadows to be correctly exposed without black or burned areas.

Cloudy day

THAT’S GOOOD

Cloudy day? cool, light will be soft and delicate, and weather not so hot, also, we will get much more fun on the sky, not just a flat empty area. However, weather change quite fast in Granada and when it’s cloudy, it’s usually not for a long time, so you will probably get much more lighting options than in a normal sunny day.

Golden hour

TALKING ABOUT FLATTERING LIGHTING

The most popular, soft and flattering lighting! Around one hour before sunset. Perfect for a romantic photo shooting. They say that if you get a photo with your partner with this lighting, you will be together forever .. at least in the photo hihi 😛.

Sunset

THE GOLDEN EXPLOSION!

The great advantage of the photo walks in this time slot is that you get it all! photos with daylight, with the golden hour and into the mystery of the night. In addition, you can enjoy the sunset itself in the best viewpoints of Granada and we will finish in time for tapas!

Night city lights

WHEN THE CITY TURNS ON!

Photo walks at night are a technical challenge due to the low light conditions and the dynamic rhythm of the activity itself, and choosing the best camera setting and locations is the key. As a result, an exciting and different way to discover the city and unique photographs!

Night key light

SIMPLE IS ALWAYS GOOD

Ok, we have the key light, good composition in the background, could you please, for example.. lean against this little wall while looking at the city light? so your face will get plenty of light. Jacket, check! perfect hair, I love this dress! speed, aperture, iso check! … 📸 📸 📸

Night backlight

OK A CAR IS COMING.. WAIT.. WAIT…

If you are not used to being in front of the camera, don’t worry, just enjoy the ride and step by step you will feel better and you will look very natural. It is kind of reality show and there will come a time when you stop paying attention to the camera, just play the game!

Key & backlight

ENDLESS COMBINATIONS

During the night, every corner of the Albaicín and Sacromonte is like a big studio of photography that someone has prepared before you arrived. Lights, background and everything is running. You just have to place your model at the right place and make sure she has a good time.

Bounced flash

NARROW STREETS, WHITE WALLS & FLASH!

Most of the times I carry my flash and most of the times I don’t use it. I prefer playing with natural lighting or the city lights, but occasionally I also use a bounced flash on the walls around to give you more lighting options when choosing your photos.
